After being released with a Bang, Bing's had a rough week
We personally quite enjoyed Bing’s demo last week, but much like Google it was far from perfect. AI Researcher Dmitri Brereton’s latest piece revealed how misleading Bing was during its live demo, including -
Hallucinating Gap’s financial report.
Providing incomplete and vague information about Mexico’s nightlife.
Making up recommendations for vacuum cleaners.
Add to that the fact that there are now countless examples of Bing wilding out in the Bing Subreddit.

Meanwhile over at Google, Sundar has been urging employees to carve out 2-4 hours daily internally testing “Bard” as the search engine wars heat up. Interestingly he did mention that Google’s most successful products succeeded not because they were the first to market but because they solved the most important problems with “deep technical insights”.
DARPA confirms AI algorithms capable of flying F-16 Fighter Jets
Darpa has confirmed that they now have the capabilities to pilot F-16 fighter jets thanks to DARPA’s Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program. In a press release they mentioned “The flights demonstrated that AI agents can control a full-scale fighter jet and provided invaluable live-flight data.”
There's no doubt that AI is playing a growing role in the military industrial complex globally. Private American defence company Anduril’s founder Palmer Luckey has personally visited Ukraine and the company has provided Ukraines with AI powered defence systems. China too has been developing its AI Military arsenal for quite some time now.
AI lawyers sign deal to work with real lawyers at world's 7th largest law firm
The World’s 7th largest law firm Allen & Overy has signed a deal with startup Harvey to provide its AI lawyer capabilities to over 3500 lawyers across its law firm. Harvey most recently raised $5M from OpenAI and Google’s AI Chief, Jeff Dean among others.

There's two main takeaways from this deal. Firstly, large institutions are opening their arms up to AI and are willing to work with scrappy upstarts. Secondly, a bespoke and highly specialised industry like law integrating AI technology in its practices highlights the evolving nature of work as AI makes headwinds into all sorts of Industries !

We end with a trip down memory lane augmented by AI -
Linkin Park, our favourite band growing up just released their latest music video generated entirely by AI thanks to the folks at Kaiber. The song “Lost” was written 20 years ago and instantly gives you the Meteora feels. Enjoy !
