Happy Thursday folks ! OpenAI is now letting users control their data, Grimes says she will share her music royalties with whoever uses her voice on viral songs, meanwhile every major company's earnings call had the magic word "AI".
As always if you enjoy reading our posts be sure to spread the word !
Here’s what we have lined up for you today -
OpenAI delivers on data protection promise
Grimes says she will share 50% royalties
Earnings calls and AI
The new Black Mirror

Open AI will provide users the option to disable chat history on ChatGPT. That’s right, if users select this option, OpenAI will have no access to this data to train on future models.
Right now, around 10% of employees paste confidential data on ChatGPT. That is a significant number.
Open AI is delivering on the promise it made earlier in the year that they will keep privacy at the forefront of user experience. The announcement also ties in with the fact that the company will soon be rolling out ChatGPT for Business which might have enhanced safety guardrails itself.
OpenAI is truly becoming a product company so much so as it was (and is) an AGI company. The heavy emphasis on user experience, continuous product innovation, business partnerships with GPT as the underlying technology all with just a few hundred employees is mighty commendable.
There are so many emergent applications yet to come, this isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Drake and Universal Music Group might not be happy about AI generated music, but that does not mean the entire music industry is up in arms about it. Artist Grimes posted on twitter that she would share 50% royalties on any successful AI generated song that uses her voice.
She further explained that some sort of profit sharing structure could apply to viral songs that use her voice. She further added that being an independent artist she had no music label or legal bindings that would restrict her from setting up such a structure.
In reality a long tail of music on most music platforms is released by relatively unknown independent artists. There is a real possibility that incentive structures can be put in place where generative AI music producers can work with such artists to create viral songs.
Music artists will eventually embrace AI. It’s a matter of how they integrate it with their work and not if they embrace it. Just look at the multitalented Golden Globe and Grammy Awards winning producer, writer, director, actor, singer Donald Glover looking to hire a prompt engineer for his creative studio.
