We’re only a month into 2023 but a lot has happened. Here’s what we think you should be on the lookout for -
Expect more dance battles between the big players in tech.
On 7th feb, Microsoft held their press event to officially announce their completely reimagined Bing browser. It leverages the most advanced version of OpenAI’s GPT model, watch the full event here . Less than 24 hours later Google held their own AI event, which did not exactly go to plan but we’ll leave you to be the judge of that .
Nonetheless, Bing is still miles behind Google Search when it comes to market share but Satya is pretty confident that he can make Google dance. Search as we know could be entirely disrupted !
Most definitely Meta, Amazon and Apple are scheming something too !
Every product is going to invest in AI
With the success of ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion and other generative AI models every product is going to tinker with AI. Github Copilot has well over 1.5 million developers and Figma’s AI tools are most definitely being used by more than a 1 million users. Notion has rolled out its AI assistant and Microsoft Office will be having ChatGPT like capabilities embedded into its products in the coming weeks.
Institutions will be confused on what to do with AI
Is it ok to use AI for tasks and assignments ? What checks and balances must be in place ? Who will ban it and who will welcome it ? Should we punish those using it ?
Jobs will be a looking a bit different
Software engineers, copywriters, designers. No, they certainly won’t be out of work but it’s going to look a bit different for them.
AI Alignment is going to be needing a lot of aligning
