Poe, the platform to interface with AI
Quizlet is giving users a personal study coach

The democratisation of education begins when people can get access to a personalised learning experience fit for their needs at a relatively low cost. Quizlet is now running its Q-Chat in private beta. What makes Q-chat exciting is that it will provide personalised study guidance to users structured in the socratic dialogue learning format.
The product is focused to prompt students to think critically, get personalised questions and topics to deepen their understanding and be able to practise and learn new languages.
Q-Chat is built on top of the ChatGPT API, which is now publicly available to everyone around the world at a rather affordable cost !
This integration is a neat example of taking a highly generalised AI model and fine tuning it to a specific use case (education).
TikTok's way too realistic AI filter
As governments debate on how Tiktok should be used by users, Tiktok is busy making product improvements that make it the stickiest social media app. The short video app that has over 1 billion monthly active users (most of whom are young adults) launched a suite of Generative AI tools about two weeks ago.
One of these is its new beauty filter which users have described as freakishly realistic. The filter has been used in over 9 million videos shared on the platform.
On the whole users are overwhelmingly surprised how seamlessly the filter blends with the facial features of the user and rarely glitches.
However things will only get wilder from here, and many are also concerned how such filters have the power to distort reality on social media platforms that already provide only a “filtered” view into people's lives.
It must also be noted that while Tiktok did announce the release of Generative AI tools, it hasn’t commented on whether this filter in particular uses generative technologies. (Although we can confidently guess that it does).
